Histon and Impington

Brook Primary School

Netball Plate Finals

On Thursday 3rd April, a group of Year 6 children travelled to a very sunny Comberton Village College to take part in the netball finals after qualifying through the first two rounds.

The competition consisted of 15 schools, so the competition was fierce.  We were split into different groups to start with and we played all the teams in our group.  Histon Brook started off strong and won all the games in their group and did not concede one goal.  They were brilliant.

The winners of each group then went into Pool 1 to play each other.  The teams in the pool were Swavesey, Trumpington Park, Histon Brook and Hardwick.

We started by playing Hardwick and Camille couldn't miss and we won 10-0.  The next game was against fellow Meridian school Trumpington Park. Again, all of the Histon players were amazing, and we won this game 2-0.  Our last game was against Swavesey.  Swavesey had also won all their games so far so we were playing for the tournament win.  Histon couldn't have played any better! Every player was defending tightly, moving brilliantly and shooting accurately.  We won this game 7-0 which made us tournament champions.

What a fantastic afternoon with wonderful children whose teamwork and positively was evident.

Really well done to all the players and thank you to the parents who helped transport the children to and from the event and who came to support.
