Ofsted School Inspection Report 15th November 2019
We have received our Ofsted Report following the visit of Mr Jason Howard to our school on Friday 15th November. The report is attached. He carried out a ‘deep dive’ into the history learning at Histon and Impington Junior School – he enjoyed observing lessons, meeting with staff, talking with children and looking at children’s work in their books. We are very pleased with the many positives Mr Howard has identified in the main findings of this report and we will continue to develop our history curriculum following his recommendations.

Attainment and Progress
Attainment outcomes at the end of Key Stage Two 2019
At the end of Key Stage Two, when the children are in Year 6, end of Key Stage assessments are taken. The children complete tests for Reading, Maths and Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling. Their writing is teacher assessed. Children are assessed as to whether they meet the expected standard for the end of Key Stage Two or whether they exceed the expected standard.

Our successful 2019 outcomes can be viewed below. They are compared to the national outcomes. In all areas, the children at our school achieved above the national.
The total number of marks the children achieve in the reading, maths and grammar, punctuation and spelling tests are converted to a standardised score. A standardised score of 100 represents the expected standard. The table below shows the average standardised score for our school compared to the national standardised score.

Progress outcomes at the end of Key Stage Two 2018
In order to calculate the school level progress measures, pupils’ results are compared to the achievements of other pupils across the country who had a similar starting point (prior attainment). Prior attainment is based on teacher assessment judgements at key stage 1 (KS1). Schools have progress measures published for 3 subjects: reading, writing and maths. Our school’s progress measures are in the table below:

A progress figure of ‘0’ shows that the children have made the expected progress. The progress figures for our school show that the in all subject areas, the children made more than expected progress.
