Tag Rugby Tournament
On Wednesday 26th March, two teams of children from Year 5/6 attended the Big Schools Year 5 & 6 Tag Rugby Competition, hosted at Shelford Rugby Club by the South Cambs School Sports Partnership. Split into two halves and playing on separate sides of the tournament, both teams played in a round robin of matches, competing phenomenally well against other local teams. With individuals in both teams producing side-steps and solo runs that even Jason Robinson would be proud of, it was an exciting afternoon. Demonstrating an attacking flair, Team A played on the front foot, looking to exploit the spaces which their opponents left on the wings - only just missing out on the play-off places after just 1 loss in 5 matches. Equally, Team B showed our strength in depth, playing just as aggressively, winning their half of the tournament, after making it five wins from five games, and scoring a total of 21 tries. Adding to this, they can be particularly proud of how they represented the school's values, with individuals being highlighted for their teamwork and fair play.
