Antarctica Visitor James Miller

On our first day back, Year 2 were lucky enough to be joined by a real life explorer!

James Miller visited to inspire our new topic of learning in History all about adventurers and explorers. He has spent many months in Antarctica, and was kind enough to share lots of photos with the children, and model some of the (many!) layers you have to wear to keep warm. We learnt all about the air which gets trapped in the layers of ice, and how scientists use this to inform them about the air quality hundreds of years ago, and we were lucky enough to get to feel and listen to the ice ourselves!

Thank you so much to Mr Miller for joining us and for bringing our new unit of learning alive with such amazing resources.

Thank you!
