Bletchley Park Visit for Year 5 and Year 6
On Thursday, the Year 5 and Year 6 classes enjoyed a trip to Bletchley Park Museum as part of their History and Mathematical enrichment. The children learned about Operation Overlord as part of the D Day landings and had a chance to explore the site seeing where the 9,000 workers (mostly female) were based. Ella commented: “The trip was really good. The tour got us involved in the setting. The code breaking session helped us learn more and was interactive.” Kyle and Daniel shared: “The Enigma Machine had three rotors and two spares, and it had a quintillion possibilities that it could produce.” A huge thank you to the parents/carers who attended as volunteers, which enabled us to give the children this fantastic learning opportunity.
