Cross Country Running Event
On Tuesday 16th May 2023, a group of Year 5 and Year 6 children attended a cross country running relay event at The Priory School in St Neots. The run involved mixed teams of four, with each child running 1200m with a baton ready to hand over to the next runner. We entered an A and B team in the Year 5 category and an A and a B team in the Year 6 category.
The event was exceptionally well organised with a chip on each baton so the finishing times, as well as the times of each leg, were recorded exactly. There were 40 teams so it was a busy, competitive environment for the runners which didn’t phrase them at all.
Every one of our runners did their absolute best and ran amazingly. We were so proud of their determination, stamina and resilience. They were outstanding!
Our A teams won their races and our B teams won their races also. We now have four very shiny shields to proudly display near the office. What an achievement for the children. Well done to all the runners and thank you to the parents/carers for coming to support the children on the day.
