Diwali Day

This week, Year 5 loved celebrating Diwali through stories, artwork and cooking.  A particular highlight was an assembly hosted by Eva in 5RB and her Mum, Preeti.  They told us all about the origins of Diwali, brought in decorations from home, and answered lots of our questions about the festival.  During Diwali Day, we also cooked coconut barfi and made devas out of clay.  It was really exciting to share all of our English writing from our text Asha and the Spirit Bird, particularly our tiger monologies, which were very funny.  Thank you to all who came and celebrated with us - we hope you enjoy the photographs from our fantastic day!
