PTFA

Parent Teacher Association (PTFA)

 

The Histon and Impington Brook Primary School PTFA is an active, welcoming and enthusiastic community of parents, carers, staff and friends who work together to enrich school life for all our children.

Our aim is simple: to raise funds, build community, and create memorable experiences that support the well-being, learning and enjoyment of every child at our school.

We would love to hear from you – whether you have ideas, feedback, or would like to get involved.

What do we do?

Thanks to the incredible support of our school community, the PTFA has funded a wide range of projects and activities in recent years, including:

  • A new sound system for the main hall
  • An outdoor stage as part of the new entertainment area
  • Funding for visiting theatres, authors and enrichment activities
  • New school sports kits, garden overalls and art materials
  • Food and drink for Christmas class parties
  • Social events for the children throughout the year, including termly discos and film nights, and much more
  • Supporting Blue Smile, a local charity offering vital counselling and wellbeing services to children in school

We organise a varied programme of fundraising events throughout the school year, alongside ongoing initiatives such as:

  • Class bake sales
  • Sales of second-hand school uniform
  • The ever-popular children’s personalised Christmas cards
  • Working closely with the village Feast and Fireworks committees to help organise the November Fireworks display and the summer Feast Day. These much-loved community events not only strengthen our local connections but also generate a significant proportion of our annual fundraising income.

How to support

We know that not everyone can give time or money. Support however works for you. Every £1, every hour, and every online shop really does add up to amazing things for our children.

GIVE MONEY

1. Regular donations

If you’re short on time but able to donate, regular giving is one of the most powerful ways to support the PTFA. If just 50 families donated £10 per month, we would raise £6,000 a year - a truly transformational amount for our school.

2. One-off donations

One-off donations are always welcome. For smaller amounts, please use our online donation link. For larger donations, a bank transfer plus a completed Gift Aid form emailed to us here makes an even bigger difference.

3. Donate a raffle prize

If you or your business can donate a prize, activity or experience, we’d love to hear from you.

4. Support Blue Smile

Could you, your business or your employer help fund wellbeing support through Blue Smile? Your contribution will directly support children at our school.

1. Join the PTFA

New members are always welcome. You don’t need any special skills – just enthusiasm and a willingness to help make a difference.

2. Come to an event

Support us simply by attending our events - they’re fun, social and help raise vital funds. Check out the latest events lineup here.

3. Volunteer

Help out at an event, or use employee volunteering days if your employer offers them. Many employers recognise school and PTFA events as eligible volunteering opportunities.

4. Use your connections

  • Sponsorship: Could your employer or business sponsor an event or school project? Our dedicated Sponsorship pack is here – please do share this with your network.

 

  • Matched funding: Some employers will match funds you help raise.

 

  • Prize donations: Ask your contacts if they could donate prizes for raffles, quizzes or events.

 

SHOPPING ANYWAY?

1. School lottery

Join our school lottery for just £1 per week, with weekly cash prizes and special draws – while supporting the school at the same time.

2. EasyFundraising

Raise funds every time you shop online with EasyFundraising:

  • Over 7,000 retailers involved
  • Completely free to use
  • No extra cost to you

Simply sign up, select Histon and Impington Brook Primary School as your chosen cause, and we’ll receive a donation every time you shop online.

3. Partner donation schemes

From time to time, we run schemes with third parties where a percentage of sales is donated to the PTFA (sometimes with additional discounts!). In the past year, we have run schemes with Stir coffee shop and have an ongoing scheme with Light House Toys.
